The Grapehound Wine Tour sm

Next year's dates will be July 18-21, 2024, unless the Watkins Glen International Raceway schedules a race event in the meantime.
The Grapehound Wine Toursm is an annual six-day wine tasting gathering of greyhound and sighthound owners in the Finger Lakes of New York. We have about forty wineries, brew pubs and distilleries who participate in our event. Our hounds are welcomed in all of our participating wineries, hotels and restaurants (on their outside decks).
Our event is headquartered at Catharine Valley Winery, about four miles north of Watkins Glen. There you will find a vendor tent with sighthound vendors from all over the country, music and other activities. On Saturday we have a Blessing of the Hounds, an ice cream social (with frozen vanilla yogurt for the hounds and ice cream for the humans), and a Silent Auction which benefits greyhound adoption.
On Sunday we walk with our hounds to Taughannock Falls, the tallest waterfall in the Northeast.
We list numerous accommodations on our Hotels page. Most of our hotel partners in New York give us a great room rate, accept multiple greyhounds (sighthounds), and waive all pet fees. You can chose from VRBO rental cabins on Seneca lake, hotel or motel rooms, a room at a B & B, or various cabin and home rental properties. Campgrounds are listed at bottom of the Hotels page.
We update our hotel rates once the hotels begin to reopen in February and March. Registration will open about May 1, 2023.
Plan to drive between hotels and wineries. Hotels are a city thing and wineries are a farming thing. They do not put hotels in vineyards and they do not put vineyards next door to hotels. Our partner businesses are located all around 40-mile long Seneca lake. The area is richly scenic with views of Seneca Lake, rolling hills and waterfalls.
Plan to bring your hounds and be with us in July to taste some delicious NY Finger Lakes wines.
The Grapehound Wine Toursm is an IRS-approved and Delaware-registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that raises funds to donate to greyhound and sighthound adoption groups. We currently manage two national greyhound events: The Grapehound Wine Toursm event held each July in the Finger Lakes of New York, and Winter Hounds, held each February in Seneca Falls, New York. Greyhounds Reach the Beach®, is now managed by Greyhound Pet Adoptions of Delaware.
